refugee camp
Instead of filling an imaginary gap in the market, we set out to solve a real problem
Our journey began after a postgraduate student from Oxford returned from a group health outreach at the Calais refugee camp with a bright idea. There, she had observed first-hand the widespread problems emerging from limited nutrition in emergency food rations. This is easily preventable in theory - why does it remain a major global challenge?
After considering the shortcomings of existing solutions in depth, she had an idea - might it be possible to create a multivitamin chewing gum to increase compliance?
The idea resonated with four other graduate women at Oxford, supporters from the Oxford innovation ecosystem, and the rest is history. Along the way, we discovered that by helping refugees, we would develop something that could help everyone.
